I need your help guys!!!! I had a 2007 Jeep Compass at the shop for a remote start. Now I am installing a viper 160 remote start with the xk532 bypass. Now get this I wired up the remote start and the xk532 box( looked like a easy car to do) First I programed the tach for the viper 160rs(done) then I programed the xk532 box for key code(done) then I gave the xk532 box power , the xk532 found the door locks perfect, the I remote started the car and it work PERFECT!!!! The I hit the brake to shut the system down. Tried to remote start it again the car would not crank. Now I tired to put the 1000 ohm resistor in with the pink output from the xk532 box to ground and the same thing. I am almost sure it has something to do with the mux wire. Please any info the you guys can give me I appreciation!!!!!

i had 100% same install issue w/ the xk530 module i think it was.  car was a 06 pt cruiser.   done in about an hr and started up first try like a champ.  doorlocks also never failed.  tried to restart and same crap.. not crankin.    my heater was workin so i new the acc portion of the mux output was good and proper.  i ended up doin a separate relay to create the neg 180 ohms 2nd start and sent it to the purp/brown mux.  i still needed to use the start input to the bypass module so that the acc portion of the mux would function properly.

worked fine but the troubleshoot sucked and i tried 3 modules, 2 of which were different.     they all did the same thing and they all didn't program properly as far as l.e.d was concerned.     all did doors/sec  without even programin and worked fine.

hope that helps.. sounds exaclty the same tho.  why would the dam thing work on first start every time..  i would reset modueles and they workd one time.

done any 08 town and country vans w/ trilogix mods.. i have one tomoro.

Thanks Guys!!! I have the car back at the shop on sunday, so I will try so new things out. I think the best way so far is using the xk532 box for the door locks and bypass, and just use to relays for the mux wire(directed tip 1084) ON SUNDAY I WILL WIN OVER THIS CAR!!!! LOL

The XK532 should take care of the MUX wire with no problem - as long as the (+) ignition and (+) start wires to it are hooked up properly.

If you are using an accessory output it will probably not work right because it drops out during crank. If this car doesn't have a conventional (+) starter wire at the ignition switch, you definitely need to put the 1000 ohm resistor to ground on that wire like the XK532's instructions say to do.

Also I would recommend connecting the XK532's ignition input to your primary ignition circuit(i.e. don't hook it to the 2nd ignition from the remote start where it's not connected directly to the car.)

Ok the way I had the xk532 box wired up:

Brown- 3 ignition wire (-) for the Viper 160

Green- Lock

Blue- Unlock

Violet/White- PURPLE / Brown (mux wire) in the car

Violet- WHITE/ Orange wire off the skim module in car

Pink/white- NC

Pink- Purple (+) wire off the viper 160 (Yes I have the 1000 ohm resistor going to ground too)

Orange- NC

Red- 12 volt constant

Black- Chassis Ground

Is this right????

The Only wire that I am using off the viper 160 is:

Off the Heavy Gauge Relay Box:

All three high current 12v input wires- Going to 10g wire from battery

Green key side starter input- nc

Purple starter side output: Going to the Pink wire on the xk532 bow with a 1000 ohm resistor going to ground

Pink wire- going to the ignition wire in car

Pink/white-nc

Orange-nc

That sounds all good...the only thing that might be trouble is if the ignition 3 comes on before the primary ignition, but I don't think that's an issue on a Directed remote start since they've got the status output wire separate from ignition 3.

Hey Chriswallace187 did you do a 07 Jeep Compass?

Had u cycle the lock & unlock on ur fac remote ? Also not to overlook the loop u wrapped around the key cylinder. Make sure it hadn't moved or shifted. U can also check to see whether it was the transponder's problem by placing the head of key close to the ignition barrel ( with the connector for the loop disconnected ) , remote start it and see what would happen.

YES SIR I TRIED EVERYTHING, I thought it was a programming problem at first, so I took the loop from the key cylinder, then put the key in the ignition and then tired to remote start it, the accesorys all came on but the car did not crank. So I know the xk532 box took care of the accessory part., But not the crake part. The only time it cranked was after the first time I programed the xk532 box , so I think the car remembered the resistance, If i had waited it may have not stared. so i am almost sure it was a mux problem. Did u have any problems with the xk532box?

I just did a 2007 dodge caliber using the same module. I had to use a relay for the gwr and also had to put a 1000 ohm resistor for the starter wire as the caliber didn't have the conventional starter wire as well. It was pretty smooth sailing. Except I had to re-adjust & secure the loop once.

You put the relay in like this:

85: GWR (-)

86:Ignition (+) 1st ignition from remote start output

30:Chassis Ground (-)

87: Brown wire from the xk532 box

Don't think that I need to do this beccause the viper 160 remote start has a 3 ignition wire (-)

Now before you adjust the loop did the car still try to crank?

Yup, u got the relay right.

No, it wouldn't even try when the loop came loose.

I just installed a remote start in a 2007 Jeep Compass, I installed the viper 160rs and the XK532 bypass. It worked great.  My question is, if I dont use a bypass for the install and use Doc 1084, I know the mux wire does the start and accesory and key sense on the one wire. but looking at the 1084 doc I can see the two relays for the start and accesory, but do you need key sense to for the car to start?

key sense, no.
sentry key, yes (if the vehicle has a sentry key which is most likely yes)

so i can just use a 556u-box for the sentry key, use doc1084 for the start and accesory part of the mux wire in car, just look for my lock wires, is that right?   I am just asking, cause before I started this car I was going to use the 556u-box and the doc 1084 instead of the xk532 box, And  I was told that if I did that, use the 556u-box and doc 1084 the car needed to see key sense on the mux wire for the car to start. I just wanted to know in case my shop ran out of the xk532bypass

I did an '07 Compass last year- it was a very staright forward install- I used the CH TBU.2 module-- followed the instructions- had no problems- still working good-- only concern was that it would not remote start with a key in the ignition-- system most likely was seeing two keys at once-- but who remote starts their car with a key in the ignition anyway?-- so it was no big deal-- just my thoughts....

I use the CH-TBU.2 on these vehicles with no problems.
