I've been installing for 3 years now, and while I feel i've learnt alot and come a very long way I have to sadly admit I know little about the VWs. Main reason for this is I just don't get many opportunities to do them here.

Anyone have experience with the 06/07 Golf doing remote start? I have the idatalink pieces which will give me a good portion of what I need, but other instalers in town are rfusing to do them. Saying the steering wheel has to come off in order to get to the ignition?

from reading, i have no personal experiance myself, but the golf does require to remove the steering column to access wires. thing is, from reaidng, the VW has ribbon cables, airbag wires etc that are necessary to be removed in order to do an alarm/RS. i think they think its too much hassle and they could potentially damage sumthing which they dont want to do.
