Have a 2005 Lancer basic model coming in for Remote Start/Keyless, I only can find the wiring diagram on here for the evo, but Ive read a few threads that say the regular Lancer might not need a bypass? Any help/info would be appreciated, thanks!

i remember one of my buddies has a remote start in his and had a mess before i cleaned it up.  It was an 2006 Lancer and no it did not have a transponder.  If im not mistaken only evo editions do but then again just install it and just warn the customer that they MAY need to have a spare key.  Pretty sure if the 06 didnt have it then the 05 wouldn't either.

scytek says transponder is on the car. i double checked with fortin and the Lancer does have a PATS transponder system.

I don't have access to directechs anymore, but it always said "Evo model only" for transponder. I have worked on an Evo...it had a transponder. I have not worked on a regular Lancer. Otherwise, the wiring will be the same.
