Hello ladies and gents.

I have a '96 GTI VR6 (VW) with a Clifford Concept 200 alarm installed.  The alarm is in valet mode, which means that the status light is always on.  The problem is that the light is not on and every once in a while when I hit a bump or dip in the road the light will come on.  If the light is on the alarm works fine, but as soon as I hit another bump the light goes off.

I have tried taking the brain out from under the dash to inspect it but nothing seems to be wrong.  The only other thing I can think of is that it is not grounding out properly or the power is not constant.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can test the wires to see if they are getting power or grounding out correctly?

Thanks for any help or input guys.

Chris

Hard work I'm afraid, you have to go to the power supply with the 5 amp fuse and the ground and check them out, also a voltage reading across them would help (12.4v min) It does sound like a bad joint to me. Also, make sure the molex plug on the unit is pushed home.

Thanks for the help sir..  What do you mean by this: "pushed home"?

I have a document that tells me what all the wires are coming out of brain. Which ones should I check? just the power and ground?

ok cool I think I can handle that.

So the power should have at least 12v and ground should be what 0 ohms?
