Let me preface by saying... never again.
that said.

I was working on my sisters car yesterday installing a remote starter, the Unit is an Ultra Start, unsure of model # off hand. The bypass I intended to use was a Platform 6 (XK06) from bypasskit with the PLXR firmware.

Well, heres the problem, I disconnected the battery and made all my appropriate connections, including the bulb check wire. The Passlock wire I grabbed was the yellowish/white colored wire in the 3 wire ribbon harness coming off of the key cylinder.

Now when I went to reconnect the battery and learn the bypass all hell breaks loose. The fuel pump turns on, but the car just cranks and cranks and cranks, doesnt get spark. With the key in the "ON" position, the "Theft System" light glows solid on the cluster, it is not flashing, but on solid. I have tried doing the learn routine and it has not worked. Whats more, the GM dealers in the area have refused to look at it.

My questions:

1. Anyone know of what may be going on and how to fix it, or what the exact learn routine is?

2. If that fails anyone know how to remove the passlock system? I know thats a stretch.

You did it wrong, recheck your connections or get another set of eyes in there. Passlock 1 is the worst abberation in existence

Lol, allow me to clarify, I was trying to start it with the key and it was not starting... So my connections shouldnt have anything to do with it, the RS and Bypass are both unplugged at this point.

thepasslock wire (yellow) needs to be cut for the installation of your bypass module. so, make sure u didnt ssnip any wires on the passlock or ignition barrel. triple check ur connections.

On this bypass it shows for passlock 1 wiring to splice into the yellow wire, not to cut it, so it is still intact.

my problem is not that the remote starter will not work, it is that the car will not start with the key. No wires have been cut.

does it crank by not start? if not and as u mentioned the security light is on solid or flashing

put key into ignition and turn it to ON and leave it in the ignition for 10 - 15 min to reset the passlock system BCM to exit tamper mode.

it will crank but not start, security light is on solid when key is in the run position.

I tried the whole key in the ignition thing and the light didnt go away. When I turn it to on, is it the first click (ACC) or second click (IGN)

I have experienced these pk 1  set ups locking up.

disconnect ALL wiring as it pertains to pk1 system.

unplug relays and brains from r/s

disconnect batt

reset bcm by grounding out the disconnected pos lead

reconnect bat terminals

attempt to start

hope this helps

What ever you have connected to the cars pass key 1 system resistance/bulb check etc

would just unplugging the bypass work?

I cant see what your install looks like.

If you tripped pk1 you probably have something wrong any how.

I dunno is it more important to you to get the car to start or to mabey have to rewire your bypass?

I have always bypassed these the "old fassion way"  (relay/resistor)

Ok, the Bypass I am using has just one wire that ties into the yellow wire on the PK system.

I did what you posted earlier, disconnected the remote start brain, disconnected the bypass, (So now there is nothing aftermarket hooked to the car) I then disconnected the battery terminals and touched the two together. (I assumed this is what you meant by ground it out.) Held it for 10-15 seconds.
The theft light is still coming on (solid, not flashing) when the key is turned to Ignition On.
It could not have been one of my connections as I didnt attempt to remote start the car, could it?

It is more important for me to get the car running at this point in time.

does anyone know the location of the passlock brain inside the car, or does that ribbon harness from the key cylinder to the BCM/>

Check the pcm fuse at passenger side fuse box, make sure it wasn't blown.

good call, i completely forgot about that, would having that fuse blown cause anything else to not work, I.E. starter or anything, because the car cranks, fuel pump turns on, and I believe I have spark.
