storing batteries on a magnet

Well, haven't been on here for at least a few years, but figured here is the smartest group of good guys on the internet, with anything electrical... My question is, would it be a bad idea to store batteries on a magnet?

I shoot some pistol leagues competitively, and we use 2032 batteries in our red dot scopes, I keep a spare in the bottom of my box but always ends up getting beat up in the case it comes in, and I don't want it to ever get hit and corrode with everything else for obvious reasons...

The top part of the box we use has a magnetic strip we use to carry our magazines separately... I was thinking it was a great spot to throw a small battery, but then who knows, I cant find anything on Google relating to the issue, so I may just try it with one for a while, see if it drains it, or has an issue, unless any of you guys can tell me YES or NO to my query Thanks.

I have no idea on that type of battery.  When I saw the subject line I assumed a lead acid battery.  I do not think the magnet will affect a lead acid battery, but no idea on those batteries.

Any of these batteries produces electricity via a chemical process of separating the protons and electrons.

I seriously doubt that any magnetic field such as you described could affect Lithium etc in a manner which would deplete this charge.

Other than the fact that the outer case on a 2032 etc is tin and magnetic, I can't see any relevance.

As long as the two edges do not short against bare metal you should be fine. (battery charged)

Kinda what i was figuring, it isn't like a ridiculous neodymium magnet anyways...

if its just the outer case of the 2032 that is magnetic, that makes me feel even better about it, just the carrier being held in place essentially.

I can't think of anything in the that is magnetic....
(That might just mean I know nothing about what's in them....)
But I too will dig....

Why not do what xxxxx did - bought those $3 "100 button batteries" sets and emptied all into a drawer?   
You could use a pocket. If a pant's pocket, it will warm you on those cold days. Use any detached pocket to start a fire.
(Maybe banning those cheap batteries is better than relying on education. May as well ban those advertised as battery-less dynamo torches (that have normal button batteries) at the same time....)

WARNING - do not physically mix button batteries - keep them separated else isolated!!
