One of our company execs just leased a 2012 Aston Martin DB9. He asked me for advice on upgrading the stereo (he got the base stereo, which is pretty crappy.) I spec'd out a killer setup and arranged for an installer friend to take care of him. His "friends and family discount" total for a complete custom upgrade of the sound system was around $2800. He said, "Oh man, that's way too high." I said what the hell, you just leased a nearly $200K car and your payments are what, $4000 a month? He said yea, but he can't justify spending more than a grand on a stereo. I sent him to Best Buy.

was that a $1000 stereo in a $200,000 car or a $20,000 stereo in a $1000 car?
