Wishing everyone and their families in the North East the best of luck over the next few days.
Just looking at the sat. pictures made me gulp.

Yea, it's going to be tough. I'm far enough inland and upstate that I'm sure I'll be fine, but I spent all damn day buttoning everything up because they are calling for really heavy wind. My biggest fear is losing power... the area around my house is very wet and my sump pump is almost constantly going during the rain and I haven't been able to put a back-up in yet so if we lose power I'm losing a lot of stuff in my basement. I put everything up on pallets, but if the power is out for long enough (which it definitely will be), I'll be in deep water (pun intended).

But I still feel worse for the lower lined areas. It was just over a year ago when quite a few small towns were almost completely wiped out by Irene and have been working like hell to rebuild... and now this is estimated to be a lot worse than Irene. I can't imagine what they will be going through...
