bench prep portable platform/table?

This question is for the mobile/on-site installers. I need some kind of small bench prep platform/table that fits on my lap while im sitting inside the car. I want to use it to bench prep wiring and solder on it. So obviously, I dont want it to be made out of wood. It would mostly be used for an install that doesnt require keeping the doors open. I can keep warm (cold winters). Does anyone use something like this or have any ideas?

Do they have small metal tea or coffee serving trays in the US?

Yes we have them. But they are definitely not as popular as maybe some other countries. A lot of people these days don't even make coffee/tea at home and would rather spend the money at a local Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts. I have a Keurig at home though, but not a serving tray. lol Anyways, thanks for the good idea.
