Craig, hope you’re almost finished prepping for Ida if you’re staying, and good luck if you are. And the same to anyone else staying down here. I’m sticking it out in Mandeville. Keep us updated and stay in touch.

Thanks man. I am hoping it will just be another day in south Louisiana. I have not checked the buoy data yet, but you know how the media is. I am bringing home chain saws, and battery powered lighting and fans. Generator is ready and I have gas. And a keg. We are ready. You stay safe as well. Being optimistic about everything may pay off again this time. I hope it is just the weather people trying to incite a riot.

Didn't think this one out too well. Keg is afloat and the weather is yet to arrive. Just watching the idiotic reporters on the weather channel trying to make the most of the situation. I am sure it is coming, but hoping it is not going to be all what these reporters are making it out to be.

My Dad is in Pearl River. Just tried to call him, got no answer. How are things where you are?

Wind has picked up here. It has been raining. According to the latest radar images you are getting wetter than we are.

Sorry to hear about the keg. Been on generator for the last 90 minutes. Over 6 inches of rain so far and the wind is making some noise.

We lost power at about the same time. Still out. Total devastation around me. No unexpected damage at my place. Going to be at least a week without power. We have power at work, I came in to do this and charge batteries and look for fuel. Baton Rouge has damage but nothing like we got. I was on the west edge of it. Baton Rouge was 5 miles to the west of the west edge. That made a big difference.

Happy to hear we both have power. I started cleaning up the mess around here Tuesday and wrenched my back Wednesday morning trying to move everything back outside. I still have a bit to do. Thankfully my neighbors have been helping. Also thankful that this wasn't as bad for us as Katrina was. Hoping this is the only one we get this year.

BTW, I adjusted my spam filter, so the email issue should be resolved, but if not, let me know.

Glad you made it through. I was getting worried. As for power outages and tree damage in this area I think this was like 2 Katrinas.   They are saying end of the month for some to get power back. They say this one broke more power poles than Katrina, Delta and Zeta combined.

Mail came back again. No biggie on my end. I can always reach you here.
