haha

you can buy the hinge assembly made for certain makes, not sure if there is one for a silverado. I think the ones they use for civics run around $1500. Im not too sure about that though

I've done it once on a Prelude, and I don't ever want to do it again. We put in AT LEAST 250 man-hours trying to make those damn things work. First we had holding problems on the hinge, then obstrcution problems with the door frame, them weather-sealing problems, then wind noise problems. The bottom line is that this is an unbelievably difficult install and you can really mess up a good truck this way.

P.S. I can't remember how much we charged, but it was damn near $2,000.

You will require modifications to the chassis & the door itself. Welding & drilling is required.

I recomend you buy a universal kit.
You can go to https://www.carexcess.com/decah.html and buy a kit there They also come with a one year warranty.

I also found someone on Ebay selling these kits for $375.00 each

There is no such thing as a universal conversion kit and if someone is trying to sell one, I feel sorry for the person buying it because they will end up spending more money on installation and modifications to make it fit. If the person on eBay is trying to sell a multi hole mounting plate, how is the plate supposed fit properly on vehicles that have grooves in the door or on the chassis ? It's funny how the eBayer trying to sell those kits doesn't even have a picture of the kit on the auction, especially if he's a " warehouse " supplier of these kits ?!?

BTW: The kits from Car Excess are not universal kits, rather Decah kits manufactured & modified to fit certain applications. Don't think that the kit is universal because you will be very disappointed when installation time comes along.
