Hey hows it going? The trunk on my 95 cavalier wont open. The lock is stuck or something. When i put the key in and turn it, it wont make the clicking noise it just turns and it feels like i am gonna bend my key. Any ideas on what is wrong and how it could be fixed?

THanks

Andrew

try to go through the back seat and trip the lock by hand with a flat head scewdriver, if you are not familiar with locks ask a friend who is.  too bad you dont have a power release huh.

not a problem  do this as follows..... step 1 realize its a caviler and the batt. and altenator are crap step 2 youll need a buddy... go get 1 ... ok  step 3 open gas door  step 4 take shirt off  step 5 unscrew gas cap step 6 have your buddy get a stick step 7 wrap small part of t-shirt around "stick"  step 8 RAM t-shirt and stick down filler neck step 9 put your "certified" mechanic in driver seat  step 10 throw flaming match book at stick and t-shirt  . problem solved ..ie: no more "dead batt.,questionable bad altenator, certified mechanic ,stuck trunk, and 95 CAVALIER" youll thank us later         haha just kidding you should probably use dynamite

the other thing is - what usually causes that on most cars (where the key turns but the trunk doesn't "pop") is the last time the trunk lid was shut, something got shut into the mechanism and now has it jammed into the down position.  going in thru the back seat you should be able to unjam whatever is stuck in the mechanism.  if you're careful, you can usually  turn the key with one hand, while with the other, putting your fingers under the lip of the trunklid, pull on it with a couple of quick firm pulls up - usually from one side or the other - not right in the middle, and it will work itself lose.
