I'm wanting to know if anyone has any ideas that might help me solve a problem I'm having with my brake lights. The thing is, when my headlights are off, the brake lights work like they should. But, when the headlights are on, the tail light and brake light both stay lit all the time, until you push on the brakes. Then the brake lights go off. So it is doing the reverse of what it should be doing while the headlights are on! Please someone give me some suggestions. I don't want to have to pay out the a** to get this fixed at the dealership. It's a 1991 Dodge Shadow Convertable.

were you into the wiring at all or did you have any work done recently

No, I haven't been into the wiring. The body of the car I recently purchased and had a new engine installed. I believe the problem with the lights has been occuring since I have been driving the car. It seems to puzzle everyone.

the problem is more than likely a ground find out where the ground for the tail & brake lights are & make sure they have a good ground that should fix your problem
