i've tried to locate a tach signal, but i cannot? does anybody know where to find it on an 01 tundra?
thanks!
us a injector use the odd color wire

On the 3.4 engine the tach is black wire at the engine igniter on the right side of the engine. If you have the 4.7l engine, use the odd colour wire at any one of the engine cylinder coils. Each coil has three common wires and one which changes. Use this for tach.

You may encounter some problems.
Tach learning problems
Not unusual on Toyota trucks.
It seems that after the 10 seconds,
the voltage on the tach wire drops below
1 volt, and the remote star need's 1 volt or more.
The TACHOMETER is black or blue/white @
the instrument cluster, on the brown plug.
But take NOTE!!
It is black on the 6 cylinder models, and blue/white on the 8 cylinder models, at the instrument cluster.
On the 6 cylinder models the black wire is also found on the drivers side of the motor at the diagnostic connector. On the 4.7L V8 can also use BLACK/ blue at coil #1 on the drivers side. So you might want to
move it around to get the best spot
Ok i have successfully remote started the tundra! it's a 2001 v8 tundra, and A tach wire is BLACK/ blue at the first coil... each harness had four wires, but none had a 3 and 1 color scheme... the vehicle info page said it best, BLACK/ blue at the coil. thanks for all your help everybody!
