senior project

Hi, can anyone give me some ideas/help for my senior project design? I'm studying EE and would like to do something related to security or audio.

So far I thought of:
1)Stun gun or electrode wired under the door handle. It will activate once the alarm is triggered.

2)People are talking about putting reed switches on the shifter for remote start on a manual. Would that be too easy?

1) This is illegal and probably wouldn't be the best thing to do for school.

2) This is easy but just takes some trial and error to come up with the correct positions.

Why don't you build some insane passive crossover or a switching board for a radio display. These would at least make you think and would probably go better with your teacher.

If all else fails, go with the "working" "fully functional" spinning amp rack.

Um, how do yuo wanna go about testing the stun gun feature? I wouldnt suggest that one. The one with the shifter is pretty easy, I did it just using micro switches so that isnt exactly an impressive one. If I was you I would go back to the drawing board and figure out something else.

I like the stun gun Idea. To make a harmless yet painful one, just take apart a disposable camera, and remove the flash circuit. disconnect the flash, and extend and run the wires to your electrodes (one on the inside of the door handle, one on the outside). The only major circuit design you will need to make is a timer circuit to recharge the capacitor, a way to discharge the cap when the alarm system is disarmed, and a voltage regulator to drop the battery voltage to 1.5 to 3 volts.

When looking at the application of this stung gun door, are you going to install it on all doors?  What do robbers ususally do? Do they usually go for the door handle when stealling a car or do they break the window and open it from the inside?  What about accidently activating it e.g. opening the door with your key in on hand and the door handle in the other and then it triggers the stung gun.  This would not be allowed in the auto industry; I though of this when I was a freshman in highschool but I don't think it will work on public property. I'd give you some ideas but I don't want to give away my copyrights.

Don't you think if this was legal it would be everywhere? This won't fly anywhere, public or private property. Hell you could be standing holding a sign and telling the thief that it was there and it would still be illegal. Drop the stungun subject already.

Copy rights cover intellectual written material, photo's, art work, etc. If your item is electro-mechanical, process, or idea, that would be covered by a patent.
