I realize this is a ForSale board type post but its more of a rant. A little background on my situation..
I am a certified MECP Installer w/ 3 years professional installation under my belt. I've worked with almost every major 12v manufactuer. One being Clifford Electronics. While working at FOSS Car Audio in Tacoma WA, we were authorized dealers and had policy to not sell IQ/Avantguard units to the general public witihout having them installed by us. Occasionally we would sell to the public without installation, but made note on the invoice the unit was not installed by us. This helped us in the future when/if the customer came back with problems.
I'm obviously capible of installing this, but my local dealers blow me off as if I was some clueless FNG. While I am not working for a shop due to my employment in the Armed Forces for the last 3.5 years, I have not forgot what I have learned from 8 years of installing. This is frustrating. I want to install my own security system because 1) I dont trust anyones work like I do my own. 2)I want it installed my way. 3)Should I have to explain?
