Hey. I wanted to shave off my door handles and tailgate handles, but I'm not sure where to go to buy auto door openers. Matter fact, I dont even know where to begin when it comes to that. Can ANYONE help me find some info on it? Installation too, I'm a newb to this. Preferrably somewhere I can order in Canada. And anywhere online with info. Thanx a lot in advance.

Have either of you ever shaved handles? and installed one of these systems? I'm planning to use them on a 92 Mazda B2200. What kit should I use? Also, are these CAD prices? or US?

I haven't installed the systems, but I have used both brands poppers and solenoids. Prices should be in US and if you have the alarm you can pick up poppers for like 10 bucks and solenoids for like 25 bucks, all prices in US. I would recommend using atleast 35lb solenoids.

Yes, I've only don auto loc, if your somewhat mechanically inclined you can hack it. I would order the whole kit from them (even if you have an alarm or wirless trigger box) It's just easier that way. The destructions are real clear and their tech support can walk ya through it if you have problems... Just make sure you install a redundant mechanical switch in case your battery dies. Some guy at work did his and didn't have a backup to get in the vehicle, now he has a bent up hood from having to pry it open to jump the battery and open his doors... heh

Another question...if i wanna shave the handle off my tailgate...does autoloc have the kit for that too? I need it to lock, cuz im havin a phat system in there as well.

The mechanical switch can be placed really anywhere. But it should be somewhere that isnt obvious. Its really up to you.

Yeah, the switch is up to you.. usually under the car or in the tank door. As for the tailgate you'll have to call them and see for a kit.. it's probably pretty generic. I would try to get something that can actually dead bolt your tailgate. I belive pop lock sells a simple actuator thing that will work in just about any tailgate (with some mods of course) for locking it, and just wire it into your alarm/rs or the door popper brain...

try www.watsons-streetworks.com they have lots of kits and door latches for hot rods, including the deadbolt kit as suggested above. they also sell mechanical cable releases, magnetic switches, all kinds of stuff!
