hey guys, my buddy and are building a 89 s10 long bed and i was wondering should i use a linear actuater or power window motor or air cylinder to operate an auto slide tag inside the tailgate so when the ignition is turned the tag will flip and when the ignition is off it will slide down, i've seen the pricie ones from silverstarcustoms and billet specialties but we aint spendings 500 buckaroos

Aeux, they are used so when you drive around they are out, but when you pull up to a car show your vehicle has a clean front or rear end with out the look of the license plate.

I made a bracket for a friends motorcycle. I hinged the factory tag bracket and used a power ant. to pull it up under the bike when he hit a switch. That was a long time ago. We didn't think much about doing stupid things then.

well to be honest with you  by the time u factor everything togeather it will almost come to about $500 bucks to do this cause if u use a actuator u are looking at almost 300 then brackets and fiberglass even!! then time  If u use air cylindrs then u are looking at air lines and a valve or 2 and then slow downs then wiring and switch   soo unless u do find something such as the window motor or power ant. motor and try to rig it thats the only way to save it all depends on the weight and room u have really!!
