Hello all,

I just had to vent about a situation that just occured about 10 minutes ago. I had a Pay Pal transaction where a customer bought a 2 way system from us and paid via Pay Pal. Now I receive confirmation of the confirmed Pay Pal address and also got the email saying that this transaction is covered under their seller protection plan. This transaction happened on December 14, 2004 and we sent out the package the very next day on December 15, 2004. It was received by the buyer within 1.5 weeks and I get a chargeback notice from Pay Pal about 3 weeks ago on this transaction saying that there was fraudulent use of the card !!

OK, I can se if this was the case if it was 30-45 days later but since Dec 14 th !!!! Give me a freaking break Pay Pal.! If a credit card user doesn't notice $ 300 + USD come out of their credit card then there's a problem with the card holder using it too damn much or they just don't care to look at their statements.

In the end Pay Pal decided to side with the buyer ( even after I gave them a tracking number, delivery confirmation & date sent ) and on top of this I have to pay for this bogus fee from Pay Pal for getting some a***ole rip me off . I'm so disappointed with Pay Pal now that I'm boycotting them as of this second. All transaction from now on will be done through money order's or nothing !! I know this is drastic, but I'm pissed at the system here. I followed all their rules and jumped through rings to have the item sent on time and get to them securely and this is what I get in return !

PAY PAL SUCKS !!!! and I hope no one else has to go through this. For other user's who want to use Pay Pal & you are sending out merchandise make sure that you have a tracking number, send out the item within 24 hours, get delivery confirmation & signature for package received otherwise Pay Pal will screw you over. So much for their seller protection policy.

Probably won't get you your money back, but at least you can feel like you aren't the only one who's been screwed. I use PayPal sparingly don't do much online business or anything. It's more just to make it convenient for me to purchase things off of ebay. Until you run into a problem like you have, it's a great thing. I've seen soooo many sellers get screwed by paypal that as a buyer I know I have the advantage. Any sales I do over paypal are usually smaller things that doesn't put me at much risk. Sorry to hear about your trouble.

Now that I've experienced this, I can see why people refuse to use Pay Pal. It's definitely geared towards the buyer's side over the seller's side. What really gets me is that I sent the package to the confirmed address, got the tracking number, confirmation of delivery and everything and still no luck. Lesson learned here and hope any seller on this forum realizes that you are at risk using Pay Pal if the buyer knows how to use the system to screw you over.

Remember that even if you send an item to a confirmed address with the transaction being covered under the seller protection policy, this doesn't mean anything and you are liable for the chargeback of the funds. That means that a buyer can dispute a transaction of false grounds even if they received the item and the tracking number confirms that it was sent to them !! In the end your at fault and you have to loose the money and the product......... be warned everyone !

So after all the information you have submitted, there's no investigation over false claims? I think that sucks what is the point of the seller protection plan? To help ensure that the seller will get screwed over?? Sorry to hear about your situation, I personally think it stinks.

P.S. Got any more components you feel like giving away??

J/K, shouldn't have even said it!!

I just read up on the charge back risk. https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=xpt/seller/ChargebackRisk-outside. Someone really can screw you over if they know what theyre doing. For now on, im getting a tracking number, keeping all reciepts, and noting that there is no returns allowed, even though paypal says it might not help that much. But every little proof of evidence helps. Well I know what im going to do on Monday since I have to ship something out.

Apparently they do an investigation but it's bogus. How I know this is that I got a 2nd guy now about 2 weeks ago charge back our account. This time the fraudulant customer was from Pueto Rico, USA and I sent the information to Pay Pal once again ( tracking number, confirmed address, & signage ) and when they were done their so called " investigation " they said that I was in the wrong " again " and charged back my account. The only problem this time is that I checked the tracking number and the package still had not got to the customer yet, but the customer said that he never received the item and sent the Pay Pal dogs after my account. Their so called investigation didn't even check wether or not the package was received and as of today it's still not delivered to the customer because we reside in Canada and the customer resides in Puerto Rico, the shipping time from Canada to Puerto Rico is about 30 - 45 days depending on how snail mail and customs are with the package.

I understand that I can go with alternate courier services but in the end if you were a customer, would you want to spend 25 - 40 % of the cost of the item in shipping ? UPS and FEDEX are both very expensive courier services up here in Canada to ship to the USA. So Canada Post/USPS is the only alternative.

Go here and enter this number into the system : CX030541945CA and see that I sent the package out on March 9, 2005 and I get the charge back notice on March 17th, 2005 and funds are reveresed on March 30th, 2005. The package is still out for delivery according to Canada Post's tracking on April 1, 2005. When it gets to them down in Puerto Rico, it will say package delivered successfully and I'm out the cash cause Pay Pal will not reverese the chargeback to us !

Pay Pal sucks !!
