Hey why would a starter make a clank or clunk noise when turning the key? you have to keep trying to start it by turn the key more then once. the starter is new.

your starter may not be tight, or your flywheel may have some teeth missing.

shhh my car does that to.   it is a 91 olds cutlass with a 3.1L v6

what car and engine is it for you?

Or it could be the tach wire because mines was making clanking noises also everytime i remote starting my car. Then i figured that i didnt have the tach wire hook up and when i hook it up everything sounded better
