Are remote starters popular in the warmer states? So Cal, Nevada, Florida, Georgia, etc. Or is it all about alarms and radios? Yes I know remote starters cool cars too, but its not as important as activating a heated seat and de-icing a windshield.

I live in Florida and it gets cold down here too. Not like The Great White North, but cold to us. It can get in the mid to low 20's and sometimes lower. I would love to have a remote start, but my Bronco has a 650cfm Holley carb and remotes will not work. Now that I think about it I don't no anyone down here with a remote. go figure.

I'll put it to you this way, Have you ever gotten into a black car with black leather on a day it is 115+ degrees? Yes remote starts are big where it is hot too. I think being cold is minor to actually burning your ass, legs, hands, etc... But then again anyone who owns a black vehicle with leather in AZ is pretty stupid to begin with.

It's like that. Some people can't be talked into a remote start. It's when they experience it they believe. I have had them in all my cars for over ten years. Anyone who is close to me usually gets them installed (usually by me) as well. I sometimes buy cars to resell and install an RS. I think it helps to sell faster. I don't know if that approach would be cost effective though if I wasn't the one doing the install.

I'm actually moving from Rhode Island to Las Vegas. I'm going to have my truck painted before I go. Now that you mention it I'll probably change the color from dark blue to something lighter. I have noticed a big difference between how hot to the touch a white car gets in direct sun compared to a dark one.
