on my 06 focus the wire from the alternator is only 8 gauge or a little bigger ,I found a focus web page that said i should run new 4 gauge wire from the alternator to the battery and it said to leave the factory wire hooked up ....will this help? and if it will should i put a fuse in the new /added wire and if so what size fuse do i need to use

Its simular to building a couple of extra lanes on the freeway, but theres NO extra traffic....faster easier flowing traffic. (to a point, of course)
