I just installed speakers and a head unit into a 1990 Mazda Protege. There also was a new battery put in. After this was all done i noticed that a fuse keeps blowing and my back taillights are not working. I replace the fuse and it blows again. What is going on here?? Is it b/c i installed something wrong?

If it wasn't happening before, its highly possible you have something wrong. Can you give more info on how you wired it?

did you hook up any dimmer or illumination wiring on the deck? or maybe your using the illumination wire as a ground, i think the wire is RED / black, make sure its not connected to anything.

wire it right to ur battery if u cant find out the problem, could be risky if u have lots to lose!

disconnect your install and see if the trouble goes away. I would agree with those that said to check your dimmer/illumination wire in the dash. This will show as a ground until you turn the headlights on. Good luck and keep us posted.

One out of two probable causes, either your positive line is being grounded at some point in you line causing a short across or you have too much resistance in the wiring. Check for a short if none, increase the wire size.
