Does anyone have the schematics for a flame shooting exaust? One of my friends wants one and I told him if I could find some schmeatics I would build him one. If you have some would ya please e-mail them to blackroguer@aol.com. Thanks in advanced all. Peace

Honestly your best bet would be to just buy a kit from autoloc.  Basically what you would have to do is buy an ingition coil and a spark plug.  You would also have to cut power going to the car's ignition coil or distributor ( as to send raw fuel through the engine ).  What you would do would be to install a momentary switch in the car and ground one end.  Take the other end of this switch and divide it to 86 of two seperate relays, then hook up a +12 v to 85.  For relay number one it will need +12V to 30 and 87 would end up powering the coil for the spark plug.  For relay number 2 you would need to locate the coil or the distributor's power wire and cut it, extend each wire to where the relays are and wire one end to 30 and the other end to 87A.  So basically when you would hit the momentary switch Relay 1 would ignite the spark plug in the exhaust pipe and Relay 2 would kill the power to you ignition sending raw fuel through the engine and out the exhaust were the fuel would be ignited and you would have flames.  Also just to note I do not believe this can be done on a vehicle with a catylitic converter.  This is just what I thought up and is basically what the autoloc peice will accomplish,  I have never installed one of these nor have I done this with relays so USE THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

I know all the risk and I have also designed my own way of making the engines run rich. So all I need is basically the schematic I have shows a relay, a cap, and a ballast resistor. What i really need to know is what valuses these are. And I was also wanting to see if anyone had a better design. I have like not just one but a bunch of people wanting these so I figured I would get a deisgn just to see how it worked and go into a research adn development stage and design my own, But I would like to get a working one just to find out how it works. Thanks Ronnie

auto loc sells a kit for this also :)

Personally, I would highly discourage the method of cutting the ignition to the engine momentarily or making it run rich.  cutting the power like that could cause it to miss a cylinder when the power is reconnected, especially since most people would fire the 'flame thrower' while revving the engine.  This could result in major engine damage!  I have seen people tap a fitting into their tailpipe after the muffler, just behind the spark plug, then run a line with a selenoid to a small propane tank, like the ones used on grills for camping.  These tanks cost $3-4 (filled, non refillable after empty) at K-mart or such.  Then they hit a momentary switch, it fires the selenoid, sends a shot of propane through the nozel.  Then you just have to wire a separate relayin  this switch circuit to fire an extra ignition coil that would be wired to the spark plug.

I say that I discourage cutting the ignition because I do alot of my own engine work and know pretty much what I am talking about.

Does anyone have info on the Auto Loc kit?  maybe a Website to view specs and cost?  Or where to buy it?

Thanks

Matthew

I saw an article in "Car Audio and Electronics" that mentioned one that used fuel from the engine.  I think it was similar to the one you said.  Here is a link.

If anyone is interested.  I have developed an inexpensive flame shooting exhaust system.  IF you are interested in the schematics i have drawn up, email me at    ragusproductions@hotmail.com

The TV show  "Trucks!" on TNN actually had an episode where Autolocs device was installed on a pickup truck. I'm sure you could order a copy of the episode or perhaps check the airing schedule and wait for a rerun (seen it on there twice now...)

igniteing fuel in your exhaust is a great way to screw up your cat or blow a muffler, the CORRECT way to do this is to run a 1/8" stainless line from a 16 oz propane tank with a manual and electric cut off valve in series to a location just to the rear of the mufflers and place the ignitor about 1" from the exhaust tip, the rapidly expanding propane  when ignited gives the desired effect without dammage to the cats/exhaust system

k, if you have a catalytic converter then you need to add an injector after the catalytic converter. and if you dont have one you can make 1 or 2 cylinders not fire to get the gas there. the engine will run correctly like this. you will also need a coil and a spark plug. for the spark it will need to pulse it cant just go off once.
