I love doin small time installs on the side...I recently began workin with a master installer and I loved doin the lil bit of fabrication he would let me. I have experience doin body work fiberglass and paint and would seriously like this as a career. I reallly would like yalls opinion on which schools to attend. For me money and location isn't really an issue. I just wanna know where yall went and ur experiencec....thanks

Small classes, heavily experienced teachers, lots of hands-on experience, several mentions in multiple magazines and a KILLER H2 in progress gives good reason to go there. Best part is that you get to keep your projects (except the group piece)

As for which schools to attend in general, look for small schools in regulated states (such as Texas and California). That way you are ensured high quality instruction. Larger schools tend to be harsh in their teachings and have a lot more theory training than hands-on. Also stricter codes are frequently enforced. One particular school has been known to push the limits of the students (such as dress and hair codes) to control the number of students so they can maintain their quality teaching (ie. weeding out "weaker" people)

Yea I jus got their brochure and it looks like a candidate. They sent me the one for the OK school as well. The 1 that actually calls to ask if I have questions tho is Snake Pit. But so does I.I. in daytona.....so its between them... But I still not sure....thanks for ur input homie.

You could try Mobile Dynamics in Tempe, Az. I went there, great school. If your learning some stuff from an installer already, you might want to learn all the technical aspect of working in the cars. You will slowly get your experience at a shop. You cant get any "real" experience at a school. I can honestly tell you that because I had no experience prior to attending school. After school was over, my experience level didnt really change. But knowing all the technical stuff really gave me an edge when it came to working on the cars.

I like the snake pit more. One of my friends came from there and he says it's really really awesome there.
