I used a DEI #8616 mini relay to open the PURPLE / green auto lights wire at the light switch while the RS was activated on a 2008 Escape. The wires are small gauge at the switch. Is this relay ok to use? It is rated 10 amps NC and 20 amps NO. Or should I replace it with a regular 30 amp one?

That relay if fine, i have used those relays alot, i used them on park lights trunck poppers lock and unlock, so you will be alright

it should be fine. You can also fuse the relay if you afraid you migh burn it out.
