I am trying to rewire the door locks in my car so that they unlock when I put the car in PARK. My car is a 1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. My car has the factory door locks, and Keyless entry.

As of right now, the car locks the doors when the car is removed from PARK, and then it unlocks when you turn the key off.

So far, the locking and unlocking is controlled through the INDIC fuse which is a HOT IN RUN. If you remove the fuse, the automatic door locks do not work at all, so it has to be plugged in.

When you remove the shifter from park, it breaks a GROUND which triggers the LOCKING. It LOCKS with a loss of GROUND. When you turn the key OFF, then it cuts power to the INDIC fuse, and that triggers the UNLOCK.

I have already determined that I need to rewire the module so that it is on a SEPERATE HOT IN RUN (the INDIC fuse supplies hot in run to about 10 different things). When the car is ON, then that will allow the LOCK feature to work.

What I need is a RELAY that when I put the car back into park, it will trigger a momentary relay that will cut the power, then restore it. It can ONLY be a momentary signal so that when I put it back into drive, it will lock the doors again.

I have both a POSITIVE, and a GROUND that can be used for this, but I would prefer to use the POSITIVE.

Is there a setup that will allow a solid HOT IN RUN when the key is ON (switched power), and then when I put it back INTO park will trigger a momentary interruption in power (can be 1 second loss of power), and then resets back to uninterupted power.

I read the relay writeup and I just cant seem to get a good grasp. I think I will need a couple relays in junction to do this, but it is my hope that someone on here will understand what I am trying to do.

Thanks
Taylor

I dont know if your vehicle will have this feature you can program. If it does then you may not need any parts. Look at page 64 for programming.

The wire I'm test'n isn't doin' what it's supposed to be doin'... I am so glad I printed that tech sheet, with the wrong info.
Do it right the first time... or I might have to fix it for ya

no, my car does not have this feature. I am stuck with doing this the hard way.

I was reading in the special application relays, and the Constant to Momentary Output seems like it MIGHT work for me. I just don't understand about the capaictor.

Is there a way to do it like this so that I can have it normally making contact, and then when I put it in PARK, it deactivates, then resets itself back to contacted? Then when I put it back into drive, it will lock again, and when I go back into park, it will unlock again, and after a second or so, go back to hot?
