I tried searching but I just don't know exactly what to search on since I don't know the name of the relay I'm trying to find... I am wondering if there is some type of relay that will close the circuit when power is turned OFF to the relay? Opposite of a "normal" relay I guess. Basically I have a situation where I need current to the relay all the time and when it switched OFF it turns on the lights...

thanks - sorry for the TOTAL newbie question..

Ground terminal 85     The 12 volt switched wire that controls the relay to terminal 86.   Terminal 30 goes to the battery via a fuse mounted at the battery.  Terminal 87A will supply voltage to the light.

The only problem with this setup is the coil of the relay is energized all of the time.  It WILL run a battery down.

No current or voltage to coil and the contacts will be connected so it depends on the amps or milliamp of current used to run the battery down and at what rate.

The wire I'm test'n isn't doin' what it's supposed to be doin'... I am so glad I printed that tech sheet, with the wrong info.
Do it right the first time... or I might have to fix it for ya
