Basically what we need to do is simple, just turn a radio on/off with a single 12+ pulse. The first 12 volt + pulse from the 12 volt source will turn a radio on. Touch the
same contact with the next 12 volt + pulse from the

Latched On/Off Output Using a Single Momentary Pulse") but someone was telling me that a standard latching relay would do the same thing and save us using a lot of parts. Is this true? As I understand it a latching relay gets triggered by a positive and/or negative impulse, and we need to use the same 12 volt + impulse each time. Would a latching relay work for us?
No. Latching relays either use seperate inputs for setting then re-setting or they use a single coil but inverse the polarity.
I've never heard of a latching relay that sets with a pos pulse then resets with a pos pulse on the same wire.
