Ok I am rewiring a headlight switch in a cavalier

There is a break somewhere in between the switch and the lights..via some hidden relays for daytime running lights and all that

I decided its easier to just rewire it.

The factory headlight switch has a negative output.

I am wiring the relay as a negative trigger.. So my layout is 86/30= 12+ 85= - Trigger and 87 for the + output..

Heres the question.. the headlight switch rests at 12+ when off. So when the lights are off the 85 terminal will be energized by 12+

This shouldn't matter should it? Its been a while and I just can't decide on my own.

Thanks for reading!

Also do you think its okay to run 2 headlights off 1 relay?

Sounds good

I would run one relay for each light.

If one relay fails you still have a light to drive with.
