You wouldn't.

Do automate your windows you need an "anti pinch" device of some sort - typically aftermarket window modules use current sense.  If you use only relays you will burn out the window motors.

I think he is wanting to install starter kill on his vehicle, without using an alarm system.   He is wanting to make it where the car will not start unless he is rolling the window up or down.     We have done several of those using parking lights but never window switches.

We can help you with this if this is what you are wanting to do.

Haha, if that is the case it is impossible to push the up and down button at the same time!

Did I miss something funny?   Maybe someone here can help us with the color and the polarity of the wire that closes the sunroof.

I found it funny that I totally misinterpretted what he said, but based on the way he wrote it it seems like he wants to push the up and down window button to get the car to start - somethign you can't do.  I guess when asking for help it pays to clearly define what you are looking to do.

I have a Chilton's manual at work.  I will see if there is any info on the sunroof wiring on Monday.

I figured at least you would be able to figure this one out.  He could use up and down to achieve this.  A relay and a cap on window up, to keep it latched briefly, and then window down while starting the car.  It would take multiple relays but would be possible.

That would be a lot of fun in the rain - and it's never a good idea to use high current motors while cranking a car.

I always thought the point of "ghost switches" was to use a switch that wasn't obvious to passengers in the car?  Seems like every time you start the car by using the power windows that people would catch on quickly.

The sunroof switch on that vehicle is directly in front of the blinker lever.  A simple touch of the close portion of the switch would go virtually unnoticed.

I will look in the service manual I have at work to see if the sunroof wire colors are listed.  If you do not want to wait till Monday, do you have a volt meter and the ability to get to the wires on the back of the sunroof switch?

You will also need to find the BLACK/ White wire coming from the Ignition switch harness.

well i checked the wires at the switch. and one wire 12v resting and ground when closing. all other wires are just positive.

would this work????? 86 and 30 to starter wire key side, 85 to the wire i found at the sunroof switch and 87 to starter side of starter wire? and a diode between 86 and 85??

That sounds exactly right.  When installing the diode, the banded end needs to be connected to 86 as you listed it, or to  the positive wire.
