hi, i want to install the heated mirrors on my altima, so i got an extra defogger switch and relay as the ones used for the rear windshield to use it for the mirrors as a separate install, i opened the switch to look inside for a timer circuit and there is nothing but the switch mechanism, so i am assuming the timer might be build in the relay, which is an open 6 pin relay that perhaps controls two circuits, does anybody knows if this relay might have the timer build in? if not where in the car can that be? the relay and switch came from an altima 1994. thanks

According to the diagram, it is simply a Double Pole Single Throw relay.

that might be simple, but what I am really trying to figure out is where or how does the timer work, my rear defogger works for 15 minutes and then turn off. so i got the same relay and switch  from another altima so i could hook ther heated mirros with that and use the timer build in, but where is the timer, is that in the relay? do relays have timer? please help

just found information on another site that says "ok, then the rear defogger is not controled by a relay, it's controlled trhought the ETACS," , which i think might apply to how my car defogger works. now that i know that i need to find a timer switch instead anybody knows of one?

ETACS is a processor controlling a number of the vehicles problems, delve into that and you will be opening a can of expensive worms. That DPCO relay is very common on Nissans but irrelevant to your needs. The heater draw on those mirrors is very low. Use a Velleman kit to give you a timed output, 5 mins etc.
