I need to build a switch to control my nitrous bottle opener.
Operating the bottle opener is very simple, supply current for 5 seconds to turn it one way, reverse current for 5 seconds to turn the other way.
What I want to do is to have one main switch that would open the bottle, turn on the bottle warmer, and trigger the ECU to engage nitrous. The switch will just be a simple on off switch.
I know how to use 2 relays to switch the direction of current to control the direction of the bottle opener. Now I need to figure out how to keep the current on for only 5 seconds when the main switch is triggered (from on to off, or from off to on).
I have been looking at the DEI 528T pulse relay and it seems like it might work but I am sure how I should wire it out or how it could be triggered.
Help is greatly apprecaited

Have you taken a look at the Altronix 6030? It is a bit cheaper than the DEI module. It maybe what you are looking for. I could easily design a circuit using just two of those to do what you mention if the needed amperage is 15A or under.
