Working on a 2006 F-350 Diesel. CCLB King Ranch.
I have a motorcycle carrier for my '05 ZX-10R, MotoTote Motorcycle Carriers - The Easiest way to haul your Bike
It's hitch mounted, and then the motorcycle rolls up onto the ramps. With the Moto-Tote in, my reverse sensors obviously go off because there's an object right there!
So here's what I'd like to do, and I need some one good with wiring to help me out. I'd like to pick up a set of reverse sensors from the junk yard, and tap the harnes, (connections and all) into the existing reverse sensors on the truck. I would then mount the sensors to the Moto-Tote, and simply plug in the sensors when I mount up the Moto-Tote and brake lights and such. Great theory right? Only problem I see is that I still have the sensors in the bumper and I know that will cause the alarm to go off.
Solution 1, probably the easiest solution, is not even hard wire in a second connector, and just simply unplug the bumper sensors and plug in the Moto-Tote sensors, but I'm a guy and of course I want things to be difficult (or simple) depending on how you look at things.
Solution 2, is hard wire in the second connection so I can plug in the Moto-Tote into it as mentioned above, but some how wire up a relay that would trip the bumper sensors off, when the load of the 2nd Moto-Tote sensors are plugged in.
I want to go with #2 but is it possible? I don't know alot about running relays, but I know it has to be possible.
Oh, I thought of a 3rd possible Solution. I could add a two way, push button right next to the parking sensor button on the dash, push the button in, activate bumper sensors, push the button out, activate Moto-Tote sensors. Possible right? I still wouldn't know how to wire that up though.

That's easy! Using a two way switch, ground both sensor control modules, carry the reverse gear signal to the common terminal, and either of the sensors positive feed, one to each of the remaining terminals!

I don't understand.
Maybe I didn't make it clear that my truck already has the reverse sensors, i just want to be able to switch to the sensors on the moto-tote when it's mounted up.
