Hey all, I posted earlier about my headlight reminder chime going off when I disarmed my alarm. Well I got a diode to take care of the issue, however when I have my headlights (and parking lights) on, the diode burns up after about 5 mins. I replaced the diode with a larger one (3A) and I'm assuming that that still isn't big enough as I still have the same problem. Is there a way I could use the relay instead of a diode?

In case you didn't read my previous post, I'm basically trying to keep the +12V from my alarm to light my parking lights from backing up into my parking light reminder chime.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Tom

Yes, use a relay. have the light wire from the alarm power up the relay away from the switch side so the the chime does not see power. Still a waste of time, like you really sit in your car when you arm and disarm your alarm? But a relay should fix your prob.
