I am trying to create a mirror turn down when my car is placed into reverse. I have a 2010 Ford Mustang GT and was wondering of a way to do this. I was going to try to use a PAC TR-7 and a few relays but I cannot figure a way to have the mirror return to the normal position. Is there a specific way I need to use the TR-7 to send a timed output to return the mirror to the normal position? I don't want to have to use 2 TR-7s because of the issues with them not remembering the positions and what not. Also, if there is another way of doing this I am all ears.

You will HAVE to use two separate timers as the mirrors will run different speeds forward and backwards. You can accomplish decent results with a time only approach but for OEM accuracy you will need to add a feedback positioning circuit to the mirror. There are aftermarket modules on the market to do this for you which may be easier, cheaper, and better then what you are trying to throw together.
