Hey guys, thanks for the forum. I am looking for a diagram/walkthrough of how to create a 7-10 second 12V pulse both when the vehicle is keyed on and off.
Essentially what I want is to add power folding mirrors to my F150, that fold out and in when the truck is keyed on or full power off respectively.

I want to be able to turn on my key and then the mirrors fold out (this is where the 7-10 second pulse activates) then when the delay circuit in the truck is disrupted by time/door switch after the key is off, there is another pulse to fold the mirrors in.
I think BMW/Mercedes do this in Europe?? (Saw it on a movie)
What I need:
Circuit that is activated once for power on then drives a circuit that is timed for 7-10 seconds
Circuit that is activated once for power off then drives a circuit that is timed for 7-10 seconds

Thanks,
Eli.

How is your mirror fold switch wired? Probably need a pair of 528ts.

To be honest, I don't know yet. I am planning on upgrading my mirrors, to the Ford telescopic towing style. Ford uses the mirror adjustment "knob", one justs puts it to the "centre" selection, and pulls back. I am guessing that if it is Ford standard, then the switching will happen pre-mirror, probably in the switch itself.

I plan to add the new switch, and run all the wiring as Ford did, to make it nearly authentic.

Am I correct in thinking that the 528T is a Diesel WTS timer? If so, I don't think that it will work. Correct me if I am wrong, but the WTS won't provide power until a length of time is up, I need power for a length of time.

Perhaps wiring things in a separate order solves this? I am not familiar with the installation or alternate installations of a 528T.

Sorry, I am a NUB when it comes to timers/chip circuitry. I have a decent knowledge when it comes to diagnosing what stopped working in a cicuit, and can replace said part, but only because someone else put that part there. ;)

Perhaps there is a way to add a timed pulse to acc +, and then with capaciters and relays, flip the pulse upon acc off?

Actually you're completely wrong it has 30amps power handling, about 4 times your mirror consumption, it will also work from pulsed etc.
I've used therm for converting an old Honda wash to wash wipe, headlight timers, even dome light delays.
Just install it with the original switch, get it working then tell me what the two switch output wires do. If the switch is latching, you can keep the switch in "open" position, then as you turn on the ignition they well automatically open. You will then need one timer for closing.
you will probably find 2 wires, just like a lock or window motor, both sit on ground, then one changes polarity for each direction. Come to think of it you may even get away with a 529t window closer.
Incidentally it's easier to trigger off the lock and unlock trigger wires.

That seems much better than an ignition controlled setup- sometimes I need to shut down and remain in the car, and still need to use the mirrors, so I wouldn't want them to fold in automatically.
If you arm the car, presumably you're no longer inside and have no further use for mirrors, so that would be the best trigger to fold them up.
