I want to mount my backup camera in a hole i'm drilling in my liscense plate but my tag lights shine right into it, how would i wire a relay to turn my tag lights off while in reverse and then back on when i go into drive. thanks for the help

Cut feed to tag lights, car side to 87a, bulb side to 30, reversing wire to 86 and ground to 85. Place a diode 1N4004 across 85 and 86 with the diode band towards 86.

By reversing wire do you mean the positive wire from the reverse light?

Look specifically for the diagramme showing "normally closed starter interrupt". Read Tag lights for starter, that's what you're doing.
