Hey guys a couple of years back I picked up a relay that stayed energised for around 10secs but for the life of me cannot find it after I striped the old car and cannot find anything like it at my local electronics shop or online, it's most probedley me looking for the wrong thing, would any one know the correct name I should search for, also it's needed to keep a couple of LEDs on after unlocking my car, used to work the doorhandle lights :)

DEI makes several timed relays.  Somebody here should be able to tell you which one will work for you.

DEI 528t, readily available in the UK, about £6 net dealer cost.

That was the first one I thought of, but the manual here only had installation instructions.  I saw no mention of how long of a pulse it would generate.  The other one is adjustable up to 100 seconds.  I take it the one I posted is a bit more costly than the 528.

Yes by a lot. 528 runs to 5 minutes.
Isn't there a simple circuit using a relay, resistor and cap?

thought the 528T was only good for about 60 seconds, but i know you can replace the large electrolytic capacitor in it to a larger value for a longer delay.

Mark, I think you're right, did them some years back for a prototype display system on London Taxis and I used modified Velleman kits instead to get 5 minutes.
