I originally ordered a keyless entry system (Cammando KE-40) that has the lock and unlock relays onboard but I
was sent the Galaxy G-20 in error. This unit has no lock and unlock relay onboard but only the parking light flash
relay. They said they were going to sent me another unit that has the relays onboard.
So just in case I would like to know how to hook up with or without relays. there's too many relay diagrams out there but
are too confusng for me.
I tested the the G-20 and when I click on the unlock and lock buttons on the remote thee keyless module clicks. So I'm assuming that's the relay
for the parking light flash and not for the door locks. Or could it be for the locks.
The questions that I have is:
1-Built in relay:
If the keyless entry system module has a built in relay for the lock and unlock, I assume I would splice the lock and
unlock wires coming from the keyless module to light blue (lock) and black (unlock) wires that are located in either
kick panel in the 84 corvette. Correct? Or is there more to it?
2-If I do need to use the Relays: I have 3 relays standing by. I’m assuming I would need 2 relays. 1 for lock and 1 for unlock.
Exactly how would these 2 wires in the kick panel be hooked up to the relays? What would be the exact circuit hookup?
Too bad I couldn’t just hookup to the door switches inside the door panel but from what I understand the 84 vettes are
'Type C' Positive trigger, reverse polarity locks and you can’t do that. Whatever that means.
Again, I’m stumped on the relay hookup to the wires located in the kick panel.

I believe they are made by the same Chinese manufacturer...the KE40 is just keyless entry and the G20 is security with keyless entry.
You are hearing the parking light relay...not door lock relays. The manual shows only low current negative outputs for door locks.
You need two relays, take a look at page 10 in your
install manual. You would use the diagram listed as "positive trigger". The unlock output from the relay would go to the black wire in the kick panel that shows +12V when unlocking. The lock output from the other relay would go to the light blue wire in the kick panel that shows +12V when locking. These wires can also be found in the center console (where you hear the relays clicking when locking/unlocking).

First, unless the vendor is offering a discount, I would wait until the correct model comes in. Unless you want to keep the system you have (if it's better than what you were supposed to get).

I figured that click was the lights. Thanks for confirming that.
Your info is very good and makes sense and is the best info I got to this point. i jtust to make sure I have all my ducks in a row before installing. I had this vette since new and to date is in flawless condition. I decided after all this time to have a winter project and install a keyless entry. I just don't want to fry any wires. Again. you gave me some good info.
The other system I'm waiting to arrive is the Commando 550-S. However, it seems not to have an onboard relay but I was told to go with this one instead of the G20.

I've been having a tough time finding someone who has a FSM for the 84 vette. However, my Hayens manual (for C4's) 1984-1996 shows a relay in the car. But from what I heard, it;s only in the 84 and 85 vette.
I found out yesterday from another forum that the 84 and 85 vettes already have the unlock and lock door relays in the car and that I have a Positive Pulse lock system and if I can find them I can hookup the keyless entry wires to them without installing external relays.
OR do I still have to install external relays?
do I have a positive pulse system?
I just have to find out where these relays arelocated. They were said to be located somewhere by the steerring column. Is that where you were saying "These wires can also be found in the center console (where you hear the relays clicking when locking/unlocking). Is that the relay you were talking about?
