I am trying to connect driving lamps to a land rover discovery 2.  The land rover switch for this application appears to have a momentary ground function.  I have located the momentary to constant diagram on this site.  There apprears to be a resistor across terminals 85 and 86 on the switch side relay.  How do I size this resistor?  My load is 110 watts.

The switch also has an internal iindicator light that comes on when the lights are on.  Does any one know how this light will function with a momentary ground switch?  Does the switch have an internal relay?  If it does it is undedectable and perfectly silent.  I hate to tear the switch appart to see what is inside.

I have read further on in the forum that this diagram appears to indicate a diode not a resistor.  How to I size it for my load?  Given that this is a lighting application and not a more sophisticated application, do I have to use it at all?  I  am powering the lights directly from a connection to the positive post on the battery.
