I am trying to put together a automatic circuit. I have a 12v motor mounted to a linear rail. The motor is coupled to a drive gear , that is in contact with a gear rail. When motor is on it moves along the linear rail. Left to right or right to left. When reaching one end of rail, motor hits the limit switch. When hit, the polarity reverses to the motor. Sending it in the opposite direct toward other end of rail. When motor has reached opposite end, motor hits second limit switch. Reversing the polarity again and repeating the process. I have a three button panel as well. Button 1 (reverse), button 2 (stop), button 3 (forward). During anygivin time the motor is in motion (forward or reverse ) i would like to stop the motor. Then be able to restart motor in either forward or reverse and still automatically change polarity when motor hits limit switches. ....whew! Can you help me design a circuit using relays. The limit switch is a two wire design (NC).

I can help you with the limit switches stopping travel when that limit is reached. Let me think about the automatic part.
