Is it possible tor have the Saab switch to stay energised until the roof is either up or down. It's a 2000 Saab so the roof needs to be UNLATCHED at th front first but I don't want to keep hold of the switch either way. I want the roof working by its self as I'm either pulling in or out my driveway. Was thinking of a window relay as I have a Clifford one and a cobra one. No wiring diagrams for either tho. I'm very useful with cars a d electrics so not fazed by trying anything. Thanx in advance.

Use a DEI 528t timer relay off the switch.
Set it for the time it takes plus 2 seconds.
A window relay won't do it, too short on the time, too much on the load and you probably have more than 1 motor.
Cobra window motor? Must be a museum piece.

Hi. Thanx for that I've been thinking 528t but where would I wire it in the system. The roof has an electric tonnue but hydraulic roof pump so needs to be on the switch really. Will I be able to wire it just after the switch so basically the switch acts as one touch. Obviously I would need two of them for up and down?

Yes I meant at the switch. For each direction depending on whether the switch has three or five terminals, ONE wire will change state for either direction, from open circuit to either NEG or POS, it doesn't matter which that's the wire.
And yes to another for the other direction.

Ok. Not sure where I can find a wiring diagram for the switch pack.

Wiring diagram? TEST
It will only be 2 types, a 4 or5 wire wired as a window switch powering the motors directly or a SPCO type,3 terminals either POS or NEG input (usually the latter) feeding relays. It doesn't matter you just have to find one wire which changes stater for each direction. Couldn't be more easy.

Good thinking, there's none in the UK at the moment.
Officially a car alarm shop.

Quick question. Does the relay stop if it senses resistance or if the switch is pushed the other way or the same way again?

No but assuming a processor/relays further down it don't matter.

Why don't you look at the switch and tell me if it has three wires or more and whether it switches pos or neg before thinking of all the possible problems.

Hi. The reason I was looking for a wiring diagram is coz its a Saab and aal the switches are in one block so about 25 wires coming out. I can do some tests when I've got time but really don't wanna destroy any expensive electrics.

I've just spent a fruitless hour looking for a diagram on the net.
These are your options:-
Check every wire on that loom.
Find a friendly Saab dealer or specialist.
If you're in London there used to be a guy off the Finchley Road, just into Prospect Road. He's been retired for a few years but his successors might still have the diagrams.

Thanx for looking for me. I've come up with nothing either. Even my Saab sites nothing. Haynes manual shows lots of vert stuff but the switch pack wiring diagram just shows normal with no soft top switch.
