want to turn my signal lights on the front into running lights and have it to still switch to L/R signals on a 2011 Ram 1500

There have been (many) similar posts before, once you've played with a pair of relays, diodes, etc. etc. it's much easier and legal just to fit separate LED running lights.

Agreed!
Besides, keeping the non-flashing running light lit (dim) is a issue.
