I am planning to add a starter button to my car. I have set up a diagram of what I am trying to do.

for those of you who know.   Will this work?

the picture show what it is supposed to do.

Right away I am unsure what I have to do so that a relay only activates after I have had a button pressed for 2-3 seconds.

I am also worried that it will drain my battery because one of my relays will almost always be active.

pictures would help as I am just learning all this...thanks

Your first relay could be replaced with a DEI 528t or similar giving you a delay on. you need to PM Kevin Pierson or Oldspark for further advice.
Much of that circuitry could be replaced with a Pic timer controller.

Amateurs assume, don't test and have problems; pros test first. I am not a free install service.
Read the installation manual, do a search here or online for your vehicle wiring before posting.

Thanks. how could I set the DEI 528t up so that when I release the button it resets to zero so it only send a signal if I have the button pressed for 2-3 seconds?

I am feeling confident now that I have the timer
Just in case though.....lol....tell me what I should do to make this better.
