500 ma ground increase

I have hooked up engine kill for alarm and the orange wire for ground when armed is 500 mA which I have tested but it is not enough to ground out relay  when armed, how do we increase this to activate relay when armed? I can take the relay wire and ground it to anything and it works but when I try to use the alarm wire that states grounded 500 mA when armed does not trigger relay

Are you using a standard Bosch/Tyco relay? If so, there is a problem with your alarm brain. Those relays draw approx 160 MA. The following post may help even if the alarm brain is damaged.

Assuming this is for a standard street vehicle what you are trying to do won't work anyway. You can't use the (-) when armed wire to energize a relay as it will drain the battery in under 48 hours.

A standard Bosch relay should draw around 160mA so 500mA should be more then enough. Do you have any other devices connected to the orange wire? If so, they should all be diode isolated.

Generally with starter kill you hook up the (-) side to the (-) ground when armed and the (+) side to an ignition source that must be powered in order to start the car. This way, if someone is trying to hotwire the car the relay will energize.

I only have the 12 volts hitting relay when you turn key on key side instead of continuose 12 volts. I will try the bosh relay tonight

I am using a engine kill relay from ebay with the diode on it and I am sure it is not a bosh type relay I will try bosh type and see

Make sure the band on the diode goes to 86 and your ground output to 85, in other words the GWA wire goes to the non banded side of the diode, the ignition wire to the banded side.
