Hello, long time lurker here in need of help, just purchased myself a 1998 renault megane coupe with shaved doors.

the problem I have is the last owner didn't fit any external switches or emergency way of getting into the car, at the moment the boot and drivers door are opened using the toad ai606 alarm key fob.

I am looking into fitting magnetic contact switches to the rear quarter glass and using a magnet to open the door.

The trouble ive have is that Im gonna have to make a new wiring loom, to patch into the solinoid as im not sure of the wires on the alarm. is it possible for someone with experience of these contact switches, could make me a quick diagram on how to wire this upto the solinoid or alarm if anybody has experience with the toad setup.

cheers
     Mike.

I am new here so not really going to post any decent diagrams yet. If you really need one PM me but for now I can suggest locate which leg of the actuator motor gets + 12v during unlock..and cut it.

Take the wire fron the actuator (motor) side and connect that to terminal 30 of the relay. Take the other cut side going to the switch ir inside the vehicle and connect that to 87a. Wire terminals 87 and 86 to a 30a fuse to constant batt power. Take a N/O (normally open) magnetic reed switch and connect one wire to - ground...and one to 85 of the relay. Whenever you place the magnet in range of the switch your door will unlock. When the magnet is in place the door lock motor will function as normal.

-------------
I can not explain to you what "nothing" is in a scientific way. What makes matters worse is you won't notice it when you finally have the opportunity to experience it.

I can't edit yet but what I meant to say is when the magnet is NOT in place the motor will function as normal. When the magnet is in place (close enough to the switch) the relay sends 12v+ to the unlock leg...the other side (leg) is resting at ground hence the door will unlock.
