I am hooking up a device to be able to auto roll down my windows in a project car. Actually I'm installing two of them. One will do the roll down, the other will do the roll up. Each would be triggered by a 1 second ground.
The problem is, the remote FOB and associated controller system has only one button available, the trunk button (I do not have an electronic trunk opener). IT will send a 1 second ground.
So, a couple options I am considering:
- Have a way to toggle it. That is, have the resulting ground output from the press of the button go to one wire the first time, then the other wire on next press.
- Maybe a better option: Have a single press go to one wire, have two presses (within a certain amount of time) go to the other wire.
As I imagine you suspect, I have not idea how to accomplish that. I'm thinking maybe with a changeover relay some how. I suspect sending two clicks of the remote in a certain amount of time would complicate the solution, if even possible.
Anyone have any thoughts on how to accomplish this?

Maybe I've found a method per the first bullet above ->
here
Confirmed?
I will continue to search for an option for bullet 2.

Hmmm, I notice that the neg output is constant. Not sure if that will cause a problem.
Also, I'm not finding a 3 prong mechanical relay.

I got no replies on my last post on the topic, but I think that my answer is to wire something up like
this.
My problem is, that I don't know what relay to purchase. The one picture that they refernce as a PCB mechanical latching relay, appears to have 4 posts. I have done a search for 'PCB mechanical latching relay', and find all kinds of stuff, none of them looking like what is picture in the diagram.
Appreciate any help.
