Ive installed a Garage 8 remote start alarm but all features work except for the remote start. Ive been given a relay in which the (-) alarm wire needs a ground pulse to start the car. If the wire is constantly on ground, it will burn out the starter. So in needs only a pulsed 1sec connection on ground. How can this be devised?
I forgot to add that when i remote start without this wire, accesories and ignition is on but the car wont crank over to start. So i have a power source to use with the relay. I noticed that when i start the car , The ignition has power constantly on even during cranking. The accesory wire has 12v, than on cranking the car it cuts out. The power returns once the car is on. So i could get the timed ground pulse using the accseories wire. But how to incorporate it with the relay?
do you have the wire connected to the tac so the remote starter knows when the car is running? if it works like mine, it will send a pulse untill the rpms on the car go up and it will cut the cranking pulse.
This alarm unit doesnt have a tach wire function. Having this ground pulse is the wrong way to install the remote start, but it works. I have the diagram for the right way to install the relay, but i cant figure it out. Ive tried numerous ways to hook up the relay and the ground pulse is the only solution i have so far without help from a pro.
Can somebody decifer this diagram for me? The acc off port wire is the one which needs the ground pulse.
