I am installing a Push Button Starter, and want the light in the button ( has it's own + & - connection ) to turn on for about 15 seconds when I put the ignition in the start postion. But if the car is started before the 15 seconds, I want the light to turn off. thanks

You could use a pulse timer for this application, or you could test with a relay and some caps.

that looks cool, about how long would the "momentary 12v output" be on?

The author says about 1/2 a second, hmmm i guess thats not too close to 15 lol... you could increase the cap value for a longer on time, but it might be a bit too large to get the desired effect. If you want i will do it using a 555 timer, then you can adjust from 1 second to 30 seconds what you want.. let me know.

I don't know what a 555 timer is, but up to 30 seconds would be better than 1/2 a second. If you could explain it that way, I would appreciate it. -------------

here is what i came up with, by adjusting the pot you can have between 0 seconds and 111 seconds.
